Finding Granny

A story about change, connection, and finding our way back to love.

When I first wrote Finding Granny, I wanted to capture something that felt real — the way life can change overnight, and how love can still hold everything together when it does.

The story follows a young child and their beloved Granny. One day, Granny has a stroke, and suddenly everything is different. She can’t paint like she used to, and she doesn’t quite seem like herself anymore. But through shared memories, creativity, and a whole lot of love, the child learns that Granny is still Granny — just a little different now.

This story is incredibly close to my heart. It’s about recovery, resilience, empathy, and the quiet power of connection when words aren’t enough. As someone who has spent her life in classrooms, coaching sessions, and messy art studios, I’ve seen how deeply children respond when we give them gentle tools to understand big emotions.
